The royal family becomes candid!

The Kensington Palace on Tuesday released two new portraits of the British royal family, before Prince Charles's 70th birthday on Wednesday. The photos, taken by Chris Jackson, feature Charles and his wife, the Duchess Camilla, Prince William, Duchess Kate, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, as well as Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

"I wish the Prince of Wales a very happy 70th birthday!" the palace wrote on Twitter. "Two new photographs of the Prince of Wales and his family, taken by @ChrisJack_Getty in the Clarence House Garden, were published on the occasion of HRH's 70th birthday."

The family smiles beautifully on color-matched photos, with everyone dressed in white, blue, or a combination of both. In the first published portrait, they seemed more relaxed than expected in the official portraits published by the Palace, echoing the loosening of the rules that observers of British royalty have noticed and changed.

Meghan, Camilla and George are all laughing at laughing in the portrait. George is sitting enthusiastically on his grandfather's lap, while Camilla urges Charlotte to look in the direction of the camera. Meanwhile, Harry has his arm around his wife and his brother, William, stands proudly with his own wife, who holds their youngest child, Louis, welcomed in May.
