Bakkover Foods recalls 795,261 pounds of products manufactured for Harris Teeter and Trader Joe, which means 13 recalls fired about 7,000 pounds of ready-to-eat salads and about 3.7 million pounds of beef and chicken products in coolers . As McCain Foods explained in an email sent Friday to the Miami Herald, the company "recently identified a potential health risk associated with grilled, caramelized or saute frozen vegetable and fruit products manufactured at its Colton, California facility. As a result, we made the decision to voluntarily recall all products manufactured in this plant.
"The risk has been identified as a potential contamination by listeria monocytogenes and salmonella. To date, no cases of illness associated with the consumption of these products have been reported and this voluntary recall has been issued as a precautionary measure for consumer safety. "
