The Queen gave them Frogmore Cottage, which is redeveloping several million pounds at the taxpayer's expense.

It will provide ten bedrooms and a crib for their baby, which is due in April. The couple should settle next year.

A royal source said, "Originally, Harry and Meghan intended to leave their cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace and move into one of the main apartments.

"But there was a little tension between the brothers.

"Now, Harry and Meghan do not want to live next to William and Kate and want to fend for themselves.

The cozy cottage currently home to the Dukes and Duchess of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge before settling into a 20-room apartment inside the palace.

"They need more space and hope that Frogmore Cottage will be ready in time for delivery."

Frogmore Cottage needs big construction work to become a deluxe family home comprising 10 bedrooms, a new kid's room and space for a gym and a yoga studio.

At present, it has been divided into five units occupied by the palace staff.

The news of Meghan and Harry's decision to leave Kensington Palace is several weeks after it was announced for the first time that Harry and William would have a separate court in the future instead of using Kensington Palace as a common office for them.

Last week, it was revealed that the £ 3.9 million Meghan fortune and Prince Harry's £ 300,000 a year trust fund could be reviewed by the Inland Revenue Service.

US tax inspectors could even scrutinize the private wealth of Prince Charles and the Queen because they provide support and funding to the couple.

Meghan must pay taxes in her home country on all "available" income for her, which could include princess jewelry, travel expenses and royal accommodation.

The royal family is so concerned about the problem that she even sought advice from a US financial consulting firm.

The Kensington Palace issued a statement in which it states: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will settle at Frogmore Cottage, in the Windsor Estate, early next year, in anticipation of the arrival of their first child.

The couple have been living in Nottingham Cottage since their engagement last year.

Windsor is a very special place for their Royal Hignesses and they are grateful that their official residence is on the estate.

The office of the Duke and Duchess will remain based at Kensington Palace.
