A sample of mosquitoes tested positive for West Nile virus in Tarrant County, Tarrant County Public Health was confirmed on Friday.
The sample came from the area around the Westridge Road, in unincorporated Southwest Tarrant County, according to a press release.
Of approximately 4,000 mosquito samples taken from the regional departmental laboratory, 200 were tested positive for West Nile virus.
Positive tests were conducted in the following areas: Arlington (40), Bedford (8), Benbrook (1), Colleyville (22), Crowley (1), Euless (8), Everman (1), Fort Worth (30). ). , Grand Prairie (2), Grapevine (8), Haltom City (5), Haslet (1), Hurst (6), Keller (4), Kennedale (2), Lake Worth (1), Mansfield (4), North Richland Hills (25), Pantego (7), Richland Hills (7), Southlake (10), Unincorporated (5) and Watauga (2).

The ministry also sent a notification to neighbors in the area, according to the press release.
The Department of Public Health said in the release that people should use an insect repellent, dress in long-sleeved pants and throw away stagnant water from their property.
