Heather Locklear was "extremely intoxicated" when she was arrested Sunday night for attacking a police officer and an ambulance attendant who responded to a disturbance call at her residence, police said.

Captain Garo Kuredjian of Thousand Oaks Police Department's IOP told PEOPLE that deputies went to her home after receiving a disturbance call shortly after 23 hours. Police said the 56-year-old actress was "extremely intoxicated" and "was arguing with her friends and family" when they arrived. In late February, Locklear was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic battery and three battery chiefs on a police officer. The police then searched her home for a firearm allegedly registered in her name, which the detectives did not find.

Captain Kuredjian told PEOPLE after the February incident that Locklear's alleged threats against MPs – she threatened them verbally, saying that she would "kill them when they returned home", according to the Thousand Oaks Police Department.

Locklear's lawyers, Blair Berk and William Haney, pleaded not guilty to charging a police officer on her behalf in April, while she was in rehab.

After being charged with hitting her boyfriend, Locklear was charged with domestic violence – but these charges were dropped in March.

Locklear has struggled with addiction in the past. In March 2008, her doctor called 911 to report that she was suicidal and that in June she asked for help for psychological issues.
