Heather Locklear's psychiatric detention extended for two weeks

The psychiatric treatment of Heather Locklear would have been extended by two weeks.

According to TMZ, which announced the news for the first time, the 5150 hold was initially scheduled to last only three days, but was extended for further processing.

A source told People: "Heather is under 5250 detention for 14 days. Doctors need more time to evaluate it and the situation. During these 14 days, the lawyer and the doctor will go to court and ask for a curator position. Under this mandate, she will be assigned a guardian. Overall, this gives them time to evaluate the patient.

"Heather needed more help," continued the source. "Three days are not enough to develop a support plan. And now, they need to understand what this support plan is.

Locklear, 57, was placed on psychiatric waiting at 5150 on November 18 after her therapist determined that she was suffering from mental depression. The extension means that she is on a 5250 hold now.

A representative of the Sheriff County Department of Ventura then told Page Six on that occasion: "The deputy ministers responded to a medical call that took place at Ms. Locklear's house yesterday afternoon. There was no crime and we have no additional information to publish. "

This is the second time this year that Locklear has been placed in psychiatric custody. The first wait took place in June after she threatened to shoot herself because she thought her fiance was cheating on her.

A Locklear representative did not immediately return our request for comment.
