Heather Locklear's psychiatric detention has been extended for two weeks, Fox News reports.

"Heather was admitted into a 72-hour stop and it was decided that she should be evaluated further, so her stay will be extended," said Monday a source close to the star of "Melrose Place" at Fox News.

"I understand that Ms. Locklear has had a long career in the entertainment industry, but that should not give her the right to hurt other people and to threaten their children without suffering any consequences."

Locklear has faced a series of arrests and hospitalizations over the past year. She was also arrested in February after an alleged confrontation with her boyfriend, Chris Heisser. She then allegedly attacked police officers responding to the incident, officials said at the time.
