KHON KAEN: An HIV-infected army sergeant-major was arrested in Nam Phong district for allegedly raping 75 young teenagers from other provinces. They were seduced by beautiful images published on social media.

SM1 Jakkrit Khomsing, 43, of the 3rd Cavalry Division in Nam Phong, was arrested Wednesday at his home, General Pol Surachate Hakparn, Acting Commissioner of the Immigration Bureau, said Thursday.

The arrest follows complaints from boys that the soldier had made them meet him and raped them in his car, said General Pol Maj, Surachat.

SM1 Jakkrit used the Blued gay social media app to talk to boys under 15 years old. He posted photos of handsome men as a profile picture to attract the boys.

Then he asked the boys to send him pictures of their genitals and invited them to meet him. In meetings, the boys discovered that he did not look like his profile pictures. He allegedly raped them after threatening to expose their private photos, he said.

"The suspect was infected with HIV in 2009 and was treated in 2015. He was transferred to Khon Kaen eight months ago … The suspect kept track of whom he raped.

"The record shows 75 victims, the damaged boys are under 15 years old and live in many provinces, the suspect has been doing since he's working in Bangkok," said General Pol Maj, Surachate.

SM1 Jakkrit was charged with raping minors, indecent assault, separating minors from their parents and obliging minors to inappropriate acts.

He had already been fired from the army, said General Pol Surachat.
