Yes, they can be more than a little sappy and a formula, but we can not seem to have enough of the holiday television movies shot every year by Hallmark Channel, Lifetime and other cable networks.
Accompanied by messages of joy, comforting messages and many romance stories, they are a comforting seasonal food. And during the holidays, who really wants to gorge on "American Horror Story"?
With this in mind, here is a preview of the festive TV movies that await us this weekend after Thanksgiving:
Friday, November 23
"Poinsettias for Christmas" (20h, for life): Just weeks before Christmas, Ellie (Bethany Joy Lenz) gets a call to go home to help her father (John Schneider) at the family's poinsettia farm. He has to deliver thousands of plants for the annual parade of the city. There is only one big problem: the poinsettias have not yet turned red! "Pride, prejudices and mistletoe" (20h, Hallmark): Darcy (Lacey Chabert) has always worked tirelessly to succeed on her own, even choosing to start her own business rather than working with her father. Back in his hometown for Christmas, Darcy reconnects with his former rival, restaurateur Luke (Brendan Penny), and they are forced to plan a charity event. "All other holidays" (10 pm, for life): Tracie (Schuyler Fisk) and Rick (David Clayton Rogers), two recently separated parents, spend their holidays with their young daughters Harper and Ava. "Eternal Christmas" (20h, Hallmark): Christmas is fast approaching and busy lawyer Lucy Toomey (Tatyana Ali) is about to become a partner in her luxury business. But when Alice, her older sister, dies suddenly, Lucy returns to Nilson's Bay, Wisconsin, to attend the funeral and take care of her estate. While Lucy dreads returning to her childhood home, she also regrets being too busy to answer her sister's last call. Once back home, Lucy meets Peter (Dondre T. Whitfield), her high school sweetheart and Alice's former attorney, who informs her of Alice's eccentric testament terms which states that for Lucy to inherit the family home, she must live there. for 30 days during the holidays.
"Every day is Christmas" (20h, for life): This is yet another facet of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". Toni Braxton plays the clever money manager Alexis Taylor, a self-proclaimed workaholic who "loves fools". Of course, she receives a holiday visit that encourages her to finally embrace the Christmas spirit when her past, present, and future meet.
"Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane" (9pm, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries): Emma (Alicia Witt) returns home to celebrate Christmas for the last time with her brothers and sisters in the house in which they grew up. After the recent death of their parents, the brothers and sisters reluctantly agreed to sell the house located at Honeysuckle Lane, leaving Emma with business responsibility. While Emma's mother's collection is being evaluated, they discover a hidden surprise that takes them on a journey to discover the power of love and family. Based on Mary Elizabeth McDonough's book. "Harmony of Christmas" (22h, for life): Harmony with a soft voice (Kelley Jakle) has the habit of living in the shadow of her pop star boyfriend, but when he leaves her just before the holidays, she returns to her city picturesque native to discover the heart and music of his great city life has disappeared. When she stays late at work in a department store on Christmas Eve, she finds herself accidentally stranded after closing – and receives a visit from a woman claiming to be her guardian angel. Luke Macfarlane and Jean Smart are also on the bill.
"Christmas Cupid's Arrow" (9 pm Ion time): Holly, a teacher in a small college, has long ago found the wrong guy. She is in charge of planning the Christmas ceremony with another teacher, a single father, who could be Mr. Right. But she is more interested in a guy she discovers on a dating site.
