Bryce Harper won the 2018 Home Run Derby on his home ground in the final round. Here's how the Nationals outfielder did it.
Last turn
No. 2 Bryce Harper vs. No. 5 Kyle Schwarber
Kyle Schwarber put a good pace with 18 in turn final, including one in overtime. Schwarber ends his night with 55 homers in three rounds, the second highest total in the history of the Derby. It seemed too much for Harper, but he rallied with nine home runs in the last minute to equalize Schwarber, then snapped a stop in overtime to win the trophy. Harper finished with 45 races total in the night
Winner : Harper, 19-18
Also, look at his daddy super swole …
The total number of home runs hit Tuesday was 221, exceeding 2016 (203 circuits) for a new Home Run Derby record.
Second Round
No. 2 Bryce Harper v. Max. Max Muncy
Max Muncy ran out of gas in the second round and finished with 12, tied in the last round of the night. It was an easy number to beat for Harper, with 1:11 remaining. Harper hits home five times in a row at one point
Winner : Harper, 13-12
No. 5 Kyle Schwarber vs. No. 8 Rhys Hoskins
Rhys Hoskins tied the best total in the first round with 17, then quickly opened the second round with better performance. He beat 19 home homers in four minutes, and also won the 30-second bonus with two long shots. He nailed on one more for the first round of the night 20.
Kyle Schwarber had a huge number to beat, and he did it . Like Hoskins, Schwarber won the 30-second bonus, but ended up not needing it. He dominated his last swing as time passed for a buzzer beating walk-off for the Cubs fielder. Schwarber is in the final
It was just the fifth and sixth rounds of 20 or more circuits in 52 innings since this new synchronized format was introduced in 2015.
Winner : Schwarber, 21 -20
First Round
No. 2 Freddie Freeman
Freddie Freeman set the number with 12 homers, but that was tied for the least so far in the first round. Bryce Harper, in his original park, had the crowd behind him, and they lavished praise that suited a national treasure. Harper won the bonus time but did not need it, leaving Freeman with 26 seconds to go, including a series of majestic shots.
Winner : Harper, 13-12

No. 3 Max Muncy vs. No. 6 Javier Baez
Javier Baez rocks everything, which we saw in the first round. But he also put a load in some balls, too. Baez earned the 30-second bonus with two long runs in the first minute of his round, then found himself with 16, including two in his added time.
Max Muncy started this season in the minors, and since being called by the Dodgers in April leading the team with 22 homers, matching his total in the majors and minor for 2015 and 2016 combined . He delivered the first kick of the night, hitting his 17th home race to beat Baez with 32 seconds still on the clock.
Winner : Muncy, 17-16

No. 4 Alex Bregman c. No. 5 Kyle Schwarber
Schwarber was the first left-handed batcher in the competition and was also the first hitter to win the 30-second bonus by hitting two shots at least 440 feet. Schwarber had 14 home runs in four minutes, then added two more in his extra 30 seconds, giving Bregman a big 16 to shoot.
Are these decorated bats the future? They look cool, allow customization and soft for launchers to blow up a bat a hitter took the time to conceive.

Alex Bregman was angry at the end of the race, including five home runs in the last minute to shoot inside Schwarber, but Bregman's last drive that would have forced a one-minute tie-break ended up …
Winner : Schwarber, 16-15
No. 1 Jesus Aguilar vs. No. 8 Rhys Hoskins
Rhys Hoskins was the first batter, the No. 8 seed of the Phillies. He started slowly but entered a groove after calling a timeout. He has a solid 17 in his turn, something has reached only six times in 14 laps in the last two years.
This is a large number of top seeds that Jesus Aguilar has to beat, and he did not do it. Aguilar did a good job, hitting 12 circuits. But he was also taking his time, trying to get a turtle situation against the hare against Hoskins.
Winner : Hoskins, 17-12
Using your head
Bryce Harper is the host here, and the second seeded among the eight competitors. But in the headgear category, he is the best bandana:

The festivities of the All-Star are fun and the players have fun. And they want to capture the moments in the best possible way. George Springer will stop at nothing to make sure the photo is correct:

Always Honest
Zack Greinke's Diamondbacks All-Star pitcher is never one to retain his opinions.
Zack Greinke, asked about his expectations for the home run derby: "I'm waiting for the home run derby to be boring and I'm leaving early."
