Hostage saved; shots still fired at Parkland

MPs remain behind after a hostage and shootings fired at Parkland on Thursday night.

The incident occurs at Sky Motors in the 13400 block of Pacific Avenue South before 8pm.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said that an armed suspect entered the company and took a person hostage. The suspect then fired several shots inside the company.

Members were able to save the hostage.

MPs said the suspect continued shooting at MPs and Pacific Avenue. It is believed that the suspect has barricaded himself inside.

All deputies and officers are counted and unharmed.

All lanes are closed between 132nd and 138th Avenue and Pacific Avenue.

A SWAT team stays on the scene.

The public is invited to stay away from the area.
