The pilot of a hot air balloon was killed in an accident at an Ohio balloon, according to reports.
The incident occurred on Friday night shortly after the balloon landing in a field, reported the Ashland source. The victim was 74 years old and was attending the 28th Annual Ashland Balloonfest in Ashland, according to the newspaper.
"During disassembly of the balloon, the pilot banged his head on the burners, suffering a fatal injury," Ashland Balloonfest Mindi Cantrell said in a press release, the newspaper reported.
The pilot did not respond and was considered to be in a state of traumatic cardiac arrest when he was taken to the hospital, Ken Gardner told the office. the scene indicated that the victim was teaching another man to steal the ball, the newspaper reported.
A balloon flight scheduled for Saturday morning was canceled.
