Two of Houston's most famous designers – Toni Whitaker and Cesar Galindo – Combine creative forces for a 2019 Spring / Summer fashion presentation at New York Fashion Week on Sunday.

Both designers are known for their exquisite feminine clothes in luxurious textiles.

Their presentation at the NYFW featured Galindo's modern floral prints and decorative prints with cobalt, chartreuse and fuchsia accents. He showed shifts and silhouettes of T-dress with summer featherweight car coats. Whitaker's all-white collection was a reinterpretation of East African designs with a contemporary twist. It replaced Egyptian and Nubian cotton refined with linen gauze for an airy and ephemeral timelessness.

Whitaker, a native of South Carolina, has been leading the fashion scene in Houston for 30 years and has created some of Houston's best-dressed socialite clothes, as well as costumes for Main Street and Ebony Opera Guild. Galindo, a Houston native who lives in New York, worked with Dolce & Gabbana, Calvin Klein, L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani, Madonna, Missy Elliot and Mary J. Blige.

New York Fashion Week continues until Thursday.
