FOXBOROUGH (AP) – Tom Brady racked up 277 yards and three touchdowns, hitting Rob Gronkowski for 123 yards and scoring Sunday to lead reigning AFC champion New England Patriots to a 27-20 victory over the Houston Texans .
Brady and Gronkowski, who both considered retiring in the offseason, have connected seven times, including a 21-yard touchdown after Deshaun Watson escaped the Texans 19 in Houston's first offensive game.
"Anything about this stuff, I'd like to put it in the past," said Gronkowski, who was swayed as a commercial bait before the team added $ 4.3 million worth of incentives to his contract. "I'm here, I'm here to stay, I'm enjoying my time."
