PHOENIX – Polling day 2018 has arrived.
Voters in Arizona began queuing on Tuesday before the polls opened at 6am.
They choose the first woman senator in the state and give the green light to five voting initiatives.
The race between Republican Martha McSally and Democrat Kyrsten Sinema is the main event, but it's far from the only convincing story for this mid-term election.
The largest city in the state votes for the appointment of a new leader. However, with four candidates, the run for mayor of Phoenix could continue in a second round.
At the same time, the former mayor of Phoenix, Democrat Greg Stanton, plans to move to the House of the United States. He runs against Republican Steve Ferrara in the 9th congressional district, currently occupied by Sinema.
And, of course, voters will decide whether to entrust a new mandate to Republican Governor Doug Ducey or entrust the state to Democrat David Garcia.
This is how polling day 2018 takes place in the valley and in the state:

Polling stations opened. Well, most of them have done it.
According to Maricopa County recorder Adrian Fontes, a handful of the county's 503 sites had early problems, only one of which related to technology.
In particular, the election officials were unable to enter the establishment of the Golf Academy of America in Chandler because the building was blocked during the night.
It was far from the 62 sites in the Phoenix area that were not ready to open in time for the August primaries.
The 40 voting centers in the county remained options for all voters, regardless of their location.

Fonts said that about 40,000 voters had arrived at Maricopa County polling stations early in the polls.
"At 6am, when we opened our polls, and at 7:44, we received 38,800 ballots and 2,346 ballots are provisional," he said.
"We have 40,000 voters."
Most of the state's voters will not be present on Tuesday because they sent their ballots during early voting.
