About 90 million Facebook users have been forced to log out of their accounts today as a security measure after finding the breach.
Guy Rosen, vice president of Facebook and head of product management, said, "On the afternoon of Tuesday, September 25, our engineering team discovered a security issue affecting nearly 50 million accounts.
"We take this very seriously and want to let everyone know what has happened and the immediate steps we have taken to protect people's safety."

Facebook does not have a specific account removal page in its settings, so you will need to go through this option.
Deleting a Facebook account can take up to 90 days. If you want to cancel your decision, you can log in and stop the process.
During the removal process, your account will not be visible to any of your Facebook friends.
Before meeting your Facebook account, it is possible to save images and videos that you may have downloaded. Otherwise, they will also be deleted.
To do this, go to Settings and click on "Download a copy of your Facebook data".
Click Start My Archive to start the process of downloading all your photos, sessions, chat history, and data.
It should also be known to your friends and family that you will delete your account before pressing the button.
