The main spoilers below for those who have not yet watched the final of Season 4 for Fear the Walking Dead.
Hogwash for anyone who claims to have been able to predict exactly what Fear the undead Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg. Season 4 has been extensively serialized, with most episodes centered on a set of characters rather than all together, this tactic is much better in some episodes than in others. . Everyone was once again faced with some semblance of security in the extended finale, "… I get lost," but only after the expected wave of dubious twists, a somewhat remarkable death and various emotional breakdowns. Which leads all where Season 5 is supposed to take everyone, and here is how it all happened.
More Martha to worry about
When Tonya Pinkins appeared for the first time when the woman identified her as Martha, my expectations were certainly too high and her background mostly diluted her potential for wickedness. She could not help her husband survive his injuries, which would have legitimately required intense medical knowledge and equipment. So she went crazy and decided to murder anyone met who would show signs of helping others. She had surprisingly had a soft spot for Althea in the opening minutes of the final, no doubt acknowledging that the former journalist had chosen to pass the stories before offering salvation, but she also wanted a great deal to face. face with Morgan, the character who had sympathized with Martha and thought that she could be saved.
And what an embarrassing face-to-face was. After Morgan met the spotted corpse of Jimbo's face, he soon discovered an unconscious Martha, on the edge of the death of her uncleaned wounds. Against his will, Morgan tried to take her to find the others, whose safety had been sabotaged. (More on that later.) A wild car accident and another slightly more moving conversation later, Morgan made the decision to let Martha die, handcuffing her to the damaged police car so that she could not to walk like a marmot. (Perhaps inspired by the familiar phrases she had written to the marker on her face.) The joke was about Morgan, however, when he came back and found the undead Martha stumbling with her chained appendix having been completely ripped off of his chest. Morgan did not spare him this time, however, and plunged his staff into his head. Hoping a more complete naughty in season 5.
So Long, Alexandria Plans
Season 4 started with the arrival of Morgan in his journey through the countryside, and the mid-season premiere alluded to his intentions of returning to Alexandria with the rest of the season. Fear the undead crew. Most of the time, we do not really understand that showrunners do not go ahead with this idea, not to abuse cross stories. And at the end of the finale, after hearing Martha's distorted feelings about helping people, Morgan bypassed her earlier plans and decided to take over Polar Bear's torch by reinstating the trucker's plans to to help survivors in need of supplies.
Morgan's new lease gives life Fear the undead a new interesting place to explore for season 5, with the Polar Bear Food Reserve housed in a large denim factory where everyone will take refuge. But then, Morgan and others will take the road to find other people to bring back to their new attempt at life in society, so it is also possible that Season 5 feels less serialized and looks more like an adventure of "road trip of the week", without a single villain on which to concentrate. I think this would be an interesting way to go, especially since Season 4 was already sprinkled with episodes of character development that did not do much to push the story forward. It may have been our appetizer course in this regard.
Althea finally watched his special band
Beyond the confrontation between Martha and Morgan, "… I get lost" was another part of her main focus on Althea, who had previously separated from the group at the hospital. She was well, having been spared by Martha, who had a hangover, and soon found herself in the protection of her armored van. Although she clearly had mental problems with the fact that Martha was having mental trouble watching all those videotaped interviews, Althea was definitely happy to have them in her possession, and when she actually put one of the tapes to watch her , the audience was finally able to see something truly meaningful from Al 's past.
Of course, without any sort of verbal statement, the fans simply had to draw seemingly obvious conclusions: she was watching an early recording of the band she had participated in at a relatively simpler time. She first had tears in her eyes after seeing a few faces, young and old, but her emotions really arose when she saw a man carrying a baby, assuming that it was safe. Was the husband / boyfriend of Althea and their child. Watching the video gave him the impetus to keep going, offering a wave of speculation that someone in Althea's family is still alive somewhere. These chances are extremely slim, given that she has not set short- or long-term goals, but it is still possible that their fate remains undetermined each time Althea is separated from her, and that she kept her intentions secret.
The fate of everyone
I do not know what other viewers have felt, but Fear the undeadThe almost-almost-final almost convinced that the entire main cast (with the exception of Lennie James) was killed to make room for a legitimately restarted season centered solely on Morgan's later exploits. . The rest of the motley crew of protagonists was hidden in the previously visited truck stop, where Martha had stealthily stained a whole pile of water bottles containing antifreeze, which were actually falling apart from her "deserving aids" to die". It was a direct conspiracy to commit murder, whoever drank them, regardless of their thoughts on the audience. Moreover, she used an approach that had to be extremely tedious to implement, even if she was successful.
For a moment, it looked like a day of glory for John, June, Alicia, Charlie, Strand, Lucy, Sarah and Wendell. Their ethanol truck project failed due to bullet holes in the tank (which I did not understand well), but Morgan was able to save a lot of time with enough alcohol to heal the tank. intoxication by the antifreeze of everyone. Science! As soon as Jimbo, the beer brewer, bought the big one, it was basically intended that the only big danger that these characters could eventually face in the final was the one where the solution was to get drunk. Well, it worked! (And Strand had the best replica of the episode recognizing that the irony of alcohol was not the drink that would kill him.) And while everyone seemed pushed to the Attractiveness to go to Alexandria, they probably had a hangover when they arrived at the denim factor, and really did not want to walk anymore.
