National Taco Day is Thursday, Oct. 4 – and we are ready to go. That means you can celebrate Taco Tuesday and the once-a-year holiday in the same week. Score!
According to National Taco Day's official website, Americans have more than 4.5 billion tacos last year. That's a lot of tacos. In fact, that's 490,000 miles of tacos – enough tacos that, if strung together with some great cheese gooey, could reach all the way to the moon … and back.
To celebrate the holiday, you Could shake up your own margaritas at home and lay out a barbecue spread rib tacos (they're really easy to make in the slow cooker), or you could snag some local freebies. If you're opting for the latter, here are your best bets:
Taco Bell
The big-time taco chain that began to dishing up Mexican-American fare in California in 1962 is bringing back their National Taco Day Gift Set. For $ 5, customers can take over hard shell tacos: the Crunchy Taco, Fiery, Cool Ranch and Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos. And it's available online to buy for a pal.

On the Border
While this hot spot for Tex-Mex and margaritas is already running, Taco Tuesday lasts all day, everyday with $ 2 tacos, it's going even bigger for National Taco Day. Well, not necessarily big – purpose definitely endless. That's right: All day on Oct. 4, customers can enjoy $ 9 unlimited ground beef or chicken tinga tacos with Mexican rice, refried beans and bottomless chips and salsa.
