Black Friday is (almost) here, with Cyber Monday on its heels – and we're pretty excited.
Does "The Cyber Five" tell you something? That's what people know (hey, it's us) call this five-day period of madness going from Black Friday to Cyber Monday. While Black Friday * was once the big day of the economy (at the time people were going to the store to shop), there is now almost a week of savings: Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. (If you're wondering what to do on a Sunday, check out Shop For Good Sunday.)
And offers seem to start earlier each year.
Find your heavy breathing, sit in a dark room with your laptop, and frantically browse every section of your favorite retailer's offer to make sure you do not miss anything.
Or you can just stay with us. We'll let you know where the best deals are, where to get the updates, which apps to subscribe to, and even how to be alerted automatically when a price goes down. In this Black Friday, you can actually enjoy online shopping instead of treating them as the Internet version of World War Z.
Read on for tips and tricks on how to save the most money during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Before the official launch date of Black Friday (which no longer appears at 5pm on Thanksgiving Day because no one has the least thrill), it would be wise to draw up a list in advance of articles for which you will make a return.
Our Black Friday ad checklist will be particularly helpful. With the help of our friends from BlackFriday.com, we were able to spot the Black Friday 2018 ads from all your favorite retailers (Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Macy's and Kohl's, for n & rsquo; To name a few), which makes the task easier. so that you can see exactly what will be on sale so that you are stuck and loaded when prices fall. This will save you a lot of time trying to devote to your websites and avoid getting overwhelmed.
When all else fails, check out our current coverage:
Not all heroes wear capes. (That's us, we're the heroes.) Mashable's Black Friday page is your one-stop shop for pretty a lot every Black Friday sale that you can imagine, with links to all our offers – be it articles on unique deals covering very big items, article category scams like the best Black Friday laptop deals , or retail-specific raids – as well as a selection of holiday gift guides to give you all the information you need.
We will also have a main article on offers containing all this information in the same place, organized in the same way, so that you can compare and shop in the way that increases your blood pressure the least.
Just think about the black Friday police scanner (but for Internet sales prices instead of crime, for example). We'll all have our hands on the deck and update it as new business comes in, so it's basically the closest coverage to the live coverage of the week – you sit down and you relax, and we will do the work.
Traveling and shopping from your phone? It would be wise to download mobile apps to your favorite stores – Walmart, Target and Amazon are three gigantic solutions. They will obviously sign their biggest transactions on the screen, making things organized and easy to navigate, even on a bumpy ride or with a noisy parent.
The store cards on the Target and Walmart apps will switch to a Black Friday card version and will tell you where to find the physical location of an item in the store, which will be useful if something s & rsquo; is sold online. Each application also has a barcode scanning function. If you are shopping in the store and you encounter an object that is too big to take home, sold at the desired size or to be sent elsewhere as a gift, simply scan the tag and you will be directed to the online list.
The Amazon app even has an "Upcoming" tab, where you can see offers 24 hours before they go online. This will be more convenient for greedy Prime members, as Amazon does not publish an official scan of Black Friday ads like most retailers do.
The only assistant you will need for the Cyber Five is Amazon Assistant (no, not a human assistant), which you will want if you shop on your computer instead of your phone. This is essentially the computer version of smartphone notifications, which allows you to look at Amazon's offers as a hawk and make sure you do not miss anything important, especially because Amazon does not publish an analysis. detailed announcements to announce the offers in advance.
It is also likely that many retailers will sell the same items: expensive technology items, such as smart TVs, laptops or the famous Instant Pots, are a few that you can probably count on. If you shop elsewhere and click on a product offered by Amazon, an Amazon Assistant banner will appear at the top of the screen to tell you the price of that product on Amazon. It is much easier to compare tabs than to change tabs and allows you to make sure you get the lowest price.
Once you have placed an order, you can also track your orders on Amazon Assistant (because we all know the feeling of checking the delivery status 20 times a day). Add the Amazon Assistant extension to your browser here.
We will tweet live updates new offers and providing links to our business or retail stacks for major product categories and more. This will make the weekend more fluid and help you stay organized so you do not have to update each of your tabs or our master post every 30 seconds.
If you really feel ambitious, you can also enable mobile notifications to be sure to see each time we tweet a chord or a new round – you know, if you're not one of those who update Twitter religiously as we are. You may also like the Mashable Deals page on Facebook if you prefer to receive your updates.
This is an asset for people who do not use or do not regularly visit social media, but still want updates for Black Friday and links to our roundups.
We will send an email with the following schedule:
-
Thursday (Thanksgiving): the first offers already online and all we know that will go on sale Friday
-
Black Friday: all the updates, the new offers expected until Friday and the offers we know for the weekend
-
Monday online: all offers that we know will be posted from Monday to the rest of the week.
By consulting our Twitter or Facebook, you will know a little more, as they will be updated live, but it's a much more moderate place to start.
Our newsletter is also something to get in general: ok, we're slightly skewed, but we really think it's an email habit be bothered every time it appears in your inbox. Each week we will give you an overview of the best deals we have found (such as daily Amazon flash deals or Macy's one day sales), as well as links to other stories. that you will want to read (such as gift guides find the best laptops for less than $ 500).
