Even though Wolverine's trip is over in the movie of 2017 Logan, star Hugh Jackman is confident that the character will come back someday.
While talking about the weekly Sunday Today show, the actor reaffirmed that Wolverine would be back in a few days, but that fans should not expect to see his familiar face in the role.
"Oh, Wolverine will be back," he told interviewer Willie Geist. "Someone will buy it, I do not know."
"Not you, though," Geist replied, causing a humorous exchange.
"No, but Ryan [Reynolds] is unrelenting, "said Jackman, responding to Reynolds' constant requests for his participation in a collaboration between Deadpool and Wolverine.
Jackman has always refused to appear in the Deadpool movies, and both have never appeared on screen as in the big screen X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Reynolds has maintained the one-sided joke by making a cover of Jackman's face magazine by Deadpool to his own face in the first film and presenting a "Dead Wolverine" music box in Deadpool 2.

Jackman's reference to Fox's imminent purchase by Disney means that he understands that his iconic character will likely be re-cast. But until another actor is actually portrayed as Wolverine, fans (and Ryan Reynolds) will not stop claiming Jackman back in the role.
