Hugh Jackman was not sure Stan Lee knew who he was

Hugh Jackman is without a doubt one of the most recognizable actors on the planet, especially in the world of comics. Despite his fame of playing in several X Men Jackman claimed that when he first met Stan Lee, he was not sure that the comic creator knew who he was.

"I remember, it was in 2008, I had done three X Men films we had announced[[[[X-Men Origins: Wolverine], I think. "I did not know he was going to be there at all," Jackman told MTV News about his meeting with Lee at San Diego Comic-Con. "When I first met him, I was not totally sure he knew it."

Almost immediately after the 2000s X Men is out, Jackman has become an icon in the world of comics thanks to his impressive release as Wolverine. Despite Jackman's achievements, none of this compares to the influence that Lee carries with him at a comic book convention.

"If you're Wolverine and you go to Comic-Con, it's a good day for you," joked Jackman. "I started to like and I remember that carpet very well and when you watched all the cameras [turning away from you] and I looked down and wondered, "Is Halle Berry there?" And I was like: "It's Stan Lee. It's cool. "

During his impressive tenure in Marvel, Jackman had many more encounters with Lee. Following the death of the creator, Jackman shared memories of Lee and explained that the mogul was still a symbol of hope. He was more surprised than anyone to see how comic films had become the dominant force in pop culture.

"I was really impressed by my relaxation and my happiness and I felt I had become a god in a subculture." This subculture became mainstream and, at 75 years, it breeds respect and adulation, "said Jackman. And he said to himself, "I can not believe it. It's amazing. We are the children of the basement who draw pictures and we know a few people. 30,000 of us meet, 30,000 disguise themselves and there are Star Wars. Now, there's a million and a half and suddenly, everyone is courting them, movie studios, everyone is courting them, and we just feel like he's a kid in the candy store that still loves him. He is like a kid. He came to make all these cameos, thinking: "It's the best, I'm in an X-Men movie, they have this thing that has been in my head and on the page, they make it alive."

Earlier this week, Jackman said that Wolverine would surely return to comics, although he also confirmed that it would be some other actor who would bring the mutant to life.
