LAKE GROVE, NY – Human remains were found in a home in Lake Grove on Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
Michael Carroll, 57, and his two adult sons were digging the basement of his home on Olive Street when the sons discovered what appeared to be human remains at 2 pm
The family called 911 and the homicide detectives were investigated.
The investigation revealed that Michael's parents, George and Dorothy Carroll, were homeowners in 1957.

Michael and his three brothers and sisters lived in the house with their parents. George has been missing since 1961 and Dorothy died in the late 1990s.
Michael is the current owner.
The remains were transported to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office for examination by an anthropologist.
The detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
