Hurricane Florence approaching the Carolinas, games between West Virginia and NC and the UCF-North Carolina matches scheduled for Saturday were canceled, it was announced Tuesday.
In a statement, UNC Sports Director Bubba Cunningham called it a "smart decision at this point", the trajectory projected by Florence storming the state.

This is the second consecutive season that a hurricane has forced the cancellation of a UCF match against an opponent of Power 5. Last season, the UCF did not. could not play Georgia Tech after hurricane Irma in Florida.
"The priority must be safety for everyone on the hurricane's trajectory," said UCF Sports Director Danny White in a statement. "Having experienced similar situations over the past two years, we certainly understand this decision.We wish the UNC the best of luck in this storm and for the rest of the year."
Both schools are studying the possibility of rescheduling this season but this remains highly unlikely. The same is true for the possibility of replacing North Carolina with another team on the program.
In a statement, NC State said it had worked with officials from the University of West Virginia, the CAC and emergency management personnel to "reach a decision in the best interests of safety and well-being." to be supporters, students and all parties involved. "
