Hurricane Florence stepped on Monday, becoming a Category 4 storm, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
The storm could hit thousands of people this week in the southeastern United States, including North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
Here's what you need to know on the way to the mighty storm.
Where is the hurricane now?
Florence was located about 525 miles south-southeast of Bermuda and about 1,170 miles east-southeast of Cape Fear, North Carolina, at 5 pm. AND, according to the NHC.
The center said the storm was moving from west to northwest at 13 miles to the hour and that the wind was blowing up to nearly 140 miles at the hour.
On the forecast trail, the center of Florence will cross the southwest Atlantic Ocean between Bermuda and the Bahamas on Tuesday and Wednesday, and will approach the coast of South Carolina or Carolina. North Thursday, "said the center.
The NHC also claims that the storm could become more powerful.
"Florence is a category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson wind scale," he said. "Extra reinforcement is expected and Florence should be a hugely dangerous major hurricane until Thursday."

The governors of North and South Carolina and Virginia have all declared the state of emergency before the approaching storm.
Governor of South Carolina Henry McMaster also suspended his campaign and asked President Donald Trump for a federal declaration of urgency.

"To pretend, suppose, to assume that a major hurricane will strike right in the middle of South Carolina and will go down well," McMaster advised.
The state's emergency management agency said it was "preparing for the possibility of a large-scale disaster."
