Washington – Michelle Obama speaks about her relationship with George W. Bush, the 43rd American president who preceded her husband in power.

The former first lady announced the creation of the Global Girls Alliance, which aims to support more than 1,500 local organizations fighting the challenges girls face in their communities. The alliance will include a social fundraiser to help them.

She says, "When you educate a girl, you educate a family, a community, a country."
Mrs. Obama spoke about her two daughters and said that they "were one of the reasons why this issue mattered so much to her". She says she's "so proud" of Sasha and Malia Obama.
She says that she and former President Barack Obama have been busy preparing books and taking care of their daughters.
