The family of a woman who was stabbed 123 times by her husband told ABC News how she was getting out of it.

Matthew Phelps, an aspiring pastor, pleaded guilty to the murder of his wife, Lauren Phelps. Lauren was found brutally stabbed and her family thought her husband had thoroughly planned the crime.

"In my opinion, he planned everything from start to finish, from the first day to the end," the father of the murdered woman, Dale Hugelmaier, told Good Morning America on Wednesday. "The last time I saw my daughter, she came looking for a three ring binder, she was nervous and a little upset and Lauren did not look at all … She Looked messy … I regret it now – that I did not ask about what was going on. "

A little over a year after he was killed, Matthew pleaded guilty and apologized to Lauren's friends and family. He told them that he felt "like a monster".

When asked if he forgave Matthew what he had done, Hugelmaier replied, "No. Never, I mean, I'm going to take him to my grave and I'll hate him." always."

Matthew will serve a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
