Ian Book launches 4 touchdowns when Notre Dame returns to Stanford 38-17

Ian Book made four touchdown passes as Notre Dame, number 8, made an important statement on Saturday night with a 38-17 victory over 7th Stanford at Notre-Dame Stadium.

Dexter Williams running back added 161 rushing yards and a touchdown in his first game of the season. Williams would have missed the first four games for disciplinary reasons.

Book finished with 278 yards of passage. His 10-yard touchdown pass to Chase Claypool with 39 seconds left in the second quarter gave Notre Dame a 21-14 lead. The Irish led the rest of the game.

Miles winner Miles Boykin had 11 catches for 144 yards and a touchdown for the Irish (5-0).

K.J. Costello had 174 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception for the cardinal (4-1).
