According to Canadian authorities, a mummified wolf pup and caribou that would have walked on Earth more than 50,000 years ago were found with intact tissues and fur.
The caribou was found on the site of an 80,000-year-old volcanic ash bed and the authorities believe it is the oldest mummified mammalian tissue in the world. according to a statement.
The head, the forelimbs and the torso of the caribou were intact. The Cub was found with a complete body.
"These specimens will help scientists learn more about the ancient mammal species that inhabited Beringia, increasing our knowledge and our ability to share the stories of this ancient lost land," said the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Jeanie Dendys.
The calf was found in June 2016 and the Cub was found in July 2016, both in gold mines, officials said last week.

Tony Beets, known at the Discovery Gold Show, said his team had found the caribou.
"We discover incredible things under the midnight sun," he said on Facebook about the discoveries.
The animals are now exposed in Dawson City and will eventually be transferred to the Canadian Conservation Institute in Ottawa.
