Ice-T wants his fans to know that playing Det. End Tutuola does not pull him out of trouble. The star "Law & Order: SVU" was arrested in New York for crossing a toll without paying.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed to ET that around 6:56 Wednesday, Ice-T, whose real name Tracy Marrow, was approaching the George Washington Bridge when it was sighted by train to drive a new McLaren red sports car through a free E-ZPass. Ice-T was intercepted and police officers understood that he had not registered his new car.
Ice-T was charged with stealing services, summoned and released on release. He was also summoned for not having plates and registration. A source told ET that It-T did not have an E-ZPass tag in his car. Ice-T told TMZ that he had forgotten to put one in his car.
Ice-T explained that he thought the punishment was a little stiff for the crime. He tweeted a link to a TMZ article about the arrest and wrote: "The cops have become a little extra, coulda just wrote a ticket, in and out … Moovin."
Then he informed his fans that his star status did not help the situation. "I like the way people think just because I'm acting like a cop on SVU, I'm treated in a special way by real cops … lol."
This is not the first time that Ice-T gets angry with the cops for charges related to driving. In 2010, New York prosecutors have dropped prosecutions for unlicensed driving against the actor and the musician after that it turned out that he was actually allowed in another state; Ice-T called this a "mistake of writing". The officer who stopped Ice-T also claimed that he was not wearing a seatbelt. At the time, Ice-T had tweeted: "A punk rookie cop b *** h … proceeded to arrest this bullfighting career today." Stop the Notorious Ice- T without seatbelt. "
