Thousands of people are without electricity in the region as freezing rain continues to hit the area.
Southern counties continue to post the largest blackouts of Duke Energy, with more than 33,000 without electricity in Hamilton County.

UPDATE @ 5:25 a m: Thousands of residents of the Miami Valley are without electricity because of the icy conditions reported in several counties on Thursday morning.

According to Duke Energy's outage map, more than 6,000 people are without electricity in Butler County and nearly 700 residents of Warren County are victims of the blackout. Further south in Clermont County, more than 4,800 residents are without electricity, while more than 23,000 Duke Energy customers are without electricity in Hamilton County.
According to the outage map, more than 800 Dayton Power & Light customers are without electricity. It has not been confirmed if this failure is related to weather conditions.
A Ice Storm Warning in effect for the entire Miami Valley until noon, according to the National Weather Service.
A heavy buildup of ice will make the condition of the road dangerous, if not impossible.
