The rules vary by country. Here's what the White House said by unveiling the latest version of the travel ban last September:

Which Syrians can not come: Neither immigrants nor non-immigrants can come, not even Syrian refugees trying to escape the terrible civil war.

Venezuela

Why is he suspended? The Venezuelan government does not adequately share information relating to public security and terrorism, the Trump administration said.

Which Venezuelans can not come: The suspension does not affect most Venezuelans – mainly government officials responsible for these shortcomings, the White House said.

Yemen

Which parents can still come?

Parents, spouses or children could still be admitted to the country, said the White House. But families will not receive a categorical renunciation; instead, waivers would be granted on a case-by-case basis.
