Ilima-Lei Macfarlane submits Alejandra Lara

It's still a day of fighting here at LowKickMMA, and the talent presented tonight (Friday, June 29, 2018) will come in the form of Bellator 201. Top of the bill, Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Alejandra Lara, but there is a whole lot of big fights also taking place on the rest of the main map.

Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Alejandra Lara meet in a female flyweight title fight in the main event. On lap 1, Lara went straight to the ground and got it inside the first minute of the lap where she would slip into the guard in the lead position. Macfarlane did a good job of ground defense using her high hips and keeping a high guard to keep her in place. Lara turned around and brought her back to the side control. In the second round, Macfarlane came out and clinched with her against the fence. Lara defended herself as they traded against the outside and applied pressure. Macfarlane took the takedown with a judo jet and landed in the side control. Macfarlane dominated the rest of the round with strikes. In the third round, Lara went to get a goal, but Macfarlane caught her and took her to where she would have completely recovered and rained strikes in that position. She works with elbows up now in the third. Macfarlane now in the mountains where she continued the assault. Macfarlane locked in the armbar for the win and retain his title.

Saad Awad and Ryan Couture meet in a light fight in the co-main event. Couture caught fire as he hurriedly kicked and kicked him. He calmed down and stalled with Awad, who managed to land a few knees in the intestine. They separate and return to the strike. The Couture quickly broke it but Awad managed to break it and shot a savage blow. Awad continued to stun him with his right hands, then grilled him with blows and this one is a wrap.

Valerie Letourneau vs. Kristina Williams is next in a flyweight bout. In the first round, they had an early detection process. Williams reversed it all at once, but Letourneau crawled to its fence. Letourneau dropped her with a huge right hand and poked her with elbows and punches from the top position while she was on guard. Williams did a good job of defending these strikes and did it until the referee picked them up. In the second round, the pace slowed in this round but Letourneau was pressed with kicks. Williams was trying to put pressure on her with a strike blitz and never backed down. They had a savage exchange inside. Williams missed a wild header. Williams is more in the second round against the very experienced Letourneau. Williams is a bit confused as we head for the third round. On lap 3, Letourneau scored a withdrawal directly from the door and took custody in the top position. Letourneau continued the fight by controlling most of this round with top strikes. They were lifted and Williams went guillotine but Letourneau was not in danger and went out to end the fight. The judges gave the victory to Letourneau.

Opening the main card on Spike TV is Juan Archuleta vs. Robbie Peralta in a featherweight fight. On lap 1, Archuleta fired for a dismount but Peralta stuffed him and they attacked. Archuleta finally got a disassembly and slammed it against the fence. Peralta was put back on his feet and they stalled again. Archuleta was able to separate and they had a brief exchange until they took a step back. Archuleta kicked in the head and went straight to the goal but Peralta was beaten. Peralta broke the clinch with a big uppercut. They exchange at the bell. In the second round, Archuleta made a put on the ground and put it on the back. However, Peralta put up a good defense and was able to get back on his feet where they clashed against the fence. Peralta was working for a dismounting surprisingly but Archuleta stuffed him. They had another exchange before Archuleta made a coppice. In the third round, Archuleta dropped him with a big backhand and then hit the ground to end the fight.
