The CWD will conduct mandatory sampling of the cervid grazer harvested from 31 of the 48 counties in its woody debris management area during the first weekend of the fall deer season on November 10th and 11th.
The counties are: Adair, Barry, Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Cedar, Cole, Crawford, Franklin, Grundy, Hickory, Jefferson, Knox, Linn, Macon, Madison, McDonald, Mercer, Monk, Ozark, Perry, Polk, Putnam, St Charles, St. Clair, St. Francis, St. Genevieve, Stone, Sullivan, Taney, Warren and Washington.

Voluntary sampling of MDC at the statewide all season
MDC also continues to offer free voluntary sampling and testing of CWD in deer caught throughout the state throughout the deer hunting season. Hunters can also get free test results for their deer online. Find places and more information on mdc.mo.gov/cwd under MDC Voluntary Sampling All Season.
Proper carcass disposal limits the spread of CWD
Carcass parts from infected deer can spread CWD. Deer can be infected even if they appear healthy. To help reduce the risk of spreading CWD, the CWD encourages hunters to discard deer carcasses by bagging them and then depositing them in bins for a landfill, burying them near the site. harvesting or leaving them nearby. where the deer was harvested and field dressed. Share the harvest
The MDC and the Missouri Conservation Federation (CFM) are encouraging deer hunters around the state to share their crops as part of the state's Share the Harvest (STH) program. Administered by the MDC and the CFM, Share the Harvest coordinates the efforts of thousands of deer hunters, many participating meat processors, many local support organizations and sponsors all over the state to help feed the Missouri hungry.
The program works by deer hunters donating their extra venison – from several pounds to whole deer – to participating meat processors across the state who grind and package deer meat. The packaged venison is then donated to local food banks and pantry for distribution to Missourians in need of food assistance. Processing fees are fully or partially covered by many program sponsors.

Genevieve. These deer can only be donated through processors participating in the Share the Harvest CWD test program and located in or near one of the 12 counties that are CWD positive. Learn more about mdc.mo.gov/cwd under Share the harvest.
The CWD is conducting mandatory CWD sampling of deer harvested in 31 counties from November 10-11. See the map for counties and sampling locations.
