Being confronted with your future daughter is not something that happens every day, but Iris and Barry have already gone through enough strangeness to accept Nora fairly quickly. (After all, his eclairs are a mix of yellow and purple, so why bother asking Cisco to do a DNA test that he could probably do while he sleeps? Or drink it, what's wrong? It is.) The only rule they set is "no future conversation". but go. This is the Flash Team we are talking about here. They stick to it for about five minutes, then push it away. After all, there's a whole other CW show where time travel is as commonplace as a trip to the convenience store and, as Wally knows during his adventures with Legends, not all timeline changes are equal.

Do you still remember Flashpoint? Do you remember Cisco's brother and all this anxiety? Remember all these solemn wishes of … oh, forget that. These people never learn anything, and how much fun would it be to stick to their guns anyway? This is how Iris takes Nora to Jitters to interview her about the future, and is disappointed to learn that her daughter will not follow her trail and become a journalist and that their adult relationship is not so great. This is how Barry asks what role he plays in Nora's future and learns that it's not really one. Do you remember the title that Gideon showed to Wells at the beginning of the series? Well, the crisis is still in play and the flash is still missing. For at least 25 years.

Given this revelation, why not let Nora stay a little longer to spend some quality time with the father she never knew, and who knows, maybe help Barry find a way to avoid his fate of Crisis. During this time, you have to deal with a meta-week: Gridlock, which absorbs kinetic energy, which prevents any damage by hitting it. It is rather disposable than the bad guys, although the method proposed by Team Flash is quite clever, and that the rescue of the plane by phasing through the buildings in its path is quite epic, in a kind special effects in CW "way.

I have been doing this long enough to know that it's best not to make big statements about what this first suggests for the season as a whole.
