Infinity War Ideas Marvel decided not to use

It is fair to say that Avengers: Infinity War lived up to the crazy hype leading up to the release date. The movie was fun, had great action, featured big stakes and had more than a few overwhelming deaths. Most people who left the theater did so with a smile on their face or tears in their eyes (in a good way), which only makes you wonder about the ideas that have not been presented in front of the camera.

Well, with the permission of Avengers: Infinity War – The art of filmwe now know what some of these ideas would have been and are fascinating. No film follows the same path throughout its production, often following secondary roads and detours. Successful films throw all kinds of ideas to the wall to see what's sticking, which can often lead to concepts that are extremely different from those on the screen. War of Infinity It was no different, but the fact that these ideas have been put aside does not mean they are not great on paper. Here are some of the coolest ideas that Marvel has abandoned War of Infinity.

Red skull looked like a nightmare

The re-appearance of the Red Skull was one of the greatest surprises in the film, but the fans would have had their eyes wide open if Marvel had chosen a different, more horrible design. Conceptual artists create tons of different designs for each character and some of those of Red Skull had a huge horror angle. Rather than having what is basically Skull in a Dementor costume, the character would have leaned on his ghostly appearance. Some designs feature Skull with a hideous and cracked face, while others have a shirtless, shriveled head with tumor-like growth on the eyes. The soul stone would have made a number on the old skull.

Spider-Man and Doctor Strange Fight Outriders

All along War of InfinitySpider-Man and Doctor Strange are part of the Team Team and sit outside the Battle of Wakanda because they are directly fighting Thanos. The two of them never meet with any Outrider, but only one element of conceptual art represents them exactly. Instead of fighting in Wakanda, it seems that this moment would have been in New York when the Black Order came looking for Strange. The Spidey shows art struggling with the Outriders, while a strange unconscious is hanging in a cocoon. It seems that the Black Order was about to bring some of them back to Earth.

Spidey's back in black

Sticky with Spider-Man, the Web-Slinger has had a lot of different designs for its Iron-Spider suit. Some of them were direct adaptations of the one he was wearing in the comics, but one was remarkably unique. The costume was entirely black, which will immediately remind Spidey's fans of his symbiotic costume. However, do not jump to Venom's conclusions for the moment, as the costume still has a Stark look, just in a black coloring. Although not a symbiote, it's still interesting to learn that Marvel was playing with the black suit, which is Spider-Man's most iconic look apart from his classic red and blue.

Thor and Rocket fight a giant snake

The fans who followed War of Infinity marketing since the first day will recognize the above conceptual art of Thor and Rocket Raccoon. This was one of the first images published for the film, but it is actually only part of the picture. The art of book reveals all, which shows the duo and Groot fighting against a giant snake. At one point in this movie about the space rocks, Thor and Rocket were going to fight against a giant two-headed snake. This beast is probably the point of view of the MCU on the Midgard snake, a gigantic snake so long that it can cover the whole planet and which, it is said, will inaugurate Ragnarok. Apparently, Thor's mission for a new weapon was seen more as a mystical journey that would have resulted in this battle. It was probably removed because it seems like it's for a completely different movie from this one.

Hulk was in the battle of Wakanda

Hulk stays mostly outside War of Infinity, appearing only at the very beginning and then refusing to come out again. The movie trailer sadly deceives fans about this detail by showing Hulk at the Battle of Wakanda, but there was a first version of the story in which Hulk was fighting. Conceptual art shows a totally different approach to Wakanda action in which Hulk did not hesitate to confront Thanos once again. In fact, Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow, Groot and Black Panther would have kept Thanos on the ground, while Thor would plunge his ax into Thanos' chest. This reflects exactly what happened during the Battle of Titan with the Iron Man team, who was finally chosen to do this scene in place of the team of the Earth.

Thanos releases the power of the soul stone

After spending a good part of the movie trying to acquire the soul stone, Thanos does not seem to use it much in combat, except for a short while. In one of the most fascinating conceptual art works, a cover page reveals that Thanos uses the soul stone against assembling the Avengers and Guardians of the galaxy on Titan. The illustration shows what appears to be the orange soul of each character ripped from his body. It is an amazing work of art, but I can see how it has never been shown at the theatrical release. How exactly do you come back after separating your soul from your body? That would have made Thanos too powerful to be defeated at this stage of the film.

The armor of Iron Man turns into a rocket

Tony Stark stood busy before War of Infinity and has built his most powerful costume to date. Using nanotechnology to make various weapons, Iron Man was one of the only characters to draw blood from Thanos. He showed some incredible stuff, but one concept shows the potential of what he could have done on another. Iron Man could mainly have turned into a rocket. The art features Iron Man with huge boosters and a pointed tip reminiscent of the nose of a missile coming out of his chest. The idea seems to be that this is the form he would take for space travel, but his armor extensions and weapons eventually took a simpler route. Nothing wrong with bigger weapons and a sword!
