Injury report Thursday of week 7 Vikings-Jets | Progress of beginners in difficulty?

Here's an overview of the Jets injury report for Sunday's Sunday 7 home match against the Vikings:

JETS

Did not practice: DB Buster Skrine (concussion), RB Isaiah Crowell (foot), DB Trumaine Johnson (quad), WR Terrelle Pryor (groin), DB Marcus Maye (in), WR Quincy Enunwa (ankle)

Limited participant: LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (foot)

Full participant: WR Andre Roberts (foot / ankle), LB Brandon Copeland (ankle), DB Doug Middleton (hamstring), QB Sam Darnold (right elbow), DB Jamal Adams (ankle), WR Charone Peake (hamstring), DL Nathan Shepherd (shoulder)), OL Kelvin Beachum (foot), OL Spencer Long (knee / finger), WR Robby Anderson (hamstring), DL Leonard Williams (back)

What this means: The Jets missed the training of nine players on Wednesday, almost all of them beginners or important substitutes.

But Anderson and Williams have all progressed by training hard on Thursday, so they seem on track to play. Pierre-Louis seems to be in a suitable form after a limited practice.

Skrine and Johnson, however, remained absent. This makes it very unlikely that one or the other can fight against the Vikings; Johnson has already missed the last two games, while Skrine left week 5 early due to a concussion. Even if they were to return Friday, there is a good chance that one practice is not enough to win a place in the active team on Sunday.

Will the Jets sign the replacement S, WR?

This is a big problem for the Jets, who have already dismissed Maye. It seems increasingly likely that they will be deprived of three of their five most defensive defenders.

Anderson's return made the image at the wide receiver a little brighter, but not much. Enunwa was dismissed Wednesday and Pryor stayed out on Thursday. If he's unable to return for Sunday, the Jets would end up without two of their top four receivers.

As for Crowell, he was absent last Wednesday and Thursday from last week before going there Friday and playing Sunday. There is a chance he's working on the same route this week, so it's worth keeping an eye on Friday.

VIKINGS

Did not practice: NT Linval Joseph (ankle / knee / shoulder), S. Andrew Sendejo (groin), T Riley Reiff (foot), DE Everson Griffen (not a wound), DE Danielle Hunter (groin), RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) tibialis)

Full participant: Tashawn Bower (ankle), DT Jaleel Johnson (ankle), Stephen Weatherly (coast), LS Kevin McDermott (hand)

What this means: Cook left the practice early and was listed as DNP. This seems to be a very bad sign for the Vikings, who thought that they were going to recover it last week before his hamstring had ignited before the game. He came back on track with a full training on Wednesday, but his status is again a question mark.

Hunter's injury also deserves to be watched. He leads the Vikings with seven sacks, so if he misses training again on Friday, the Jets could make up for a huge break.
