Watching and recording from Spirit Airlines Flight 346, Line 14, Stephanie Calder almost panicked. She was afraid of the erratic explosion of an angry fellow traveler for an unplanned delay.

"I thought I needed to protect my 15-year-old daughter (who was heading to Detroit for a volleyball tournament)," Calder said. "I (was just) worried (the angry passenger was) is going to go even more furious and so I just put my back to my daughter and protected my daughter in case that woman decided to do it. I was one row behind the emergency exit door and now we've been landed but who knows what this woman could have done? "

Their flight left Houston around 8am Monday for Minneapolis. The Calder's had a connecting flight to Michigan. However, about an hour after taking off their hijacked plane to Rochester, Minnesota, because a man near the front of the plane needed a doctor.

"The attendant thought he was sleeping, but he was in a coma," Calder said.

When the plane landed, the paramedics had to call the police for help.

"Suddenly, it is there that the lady came running to the back of the plane," Calder said. "She started saying that she is not going to calm down and want to leave the plane and the like."

The police sent this passenger to a hospital for mental health assessment after he was told that he was a military veteran who was battling PTSD.

"It saddens me," Calder said. "Now, looking back at everything you want, there was someone on this plane (who) could have helped right now."

With the man in need of a doctor, a third passenger descended from the plane to Rochester, police said. This passenger was unhappy with how the airline was handling the woman's situation.
