The tower of the inheritance of the beast has begun in Estonia in May, with a set of 16 songs that saw them burst for the first time since 1986 "Flight of the Icarus". "The Clansman" and "Sign of the Cross", both recorded during the period when Blaze Bayley introduced the band, were also performed for the first time in more than a decade.
Iron Maiden also worked hard for production, which included a large-scale Spitfire aircraft from World War II flying over the scene during "Aces High," which opened the show. "Flight of Icarus" introduced the singer Bruce Dickinson shooting with a flamethrower and, during "Iron Maiden", the penultimate song of the main set, he engaged in a sword fight with Eddie, the group's mascot.
"We thought a lot about the set list for this tour because the songs had to follow the story of the changing worlds of the show," the bassist said. Steve Harris said in a press release. "We think we ended up with a very solid and well-balanced mix of songs that we have not played for many years, such as" Flight of Icarus "," Sign of the Cross "and" The Clansman " ", with songs that we know the fans want, like" The Rider "," Two minutes before midnight "," The number of the beast "," The fear of the dark "," Run to the hills "," May your name be sanctified "and of others, reflecting the journey through the The group as a whole is really enjoying this tour and we can not wait to see everyone again!"
"We are excited to be returning to North America and sharing the legacy tour of the beast with all our friends!" Added Dickinson. "We are extremely proud of this show and we have had great reactions from the many fans who came to see us in Europe earlier this year. The production is based on our mobile game The inheritance of the beast, which basically takes on various Eddie incarnations in many Maiden worlds. "
"It inspired us to put on a show to bring our fans across different worlds and experiences on appropriate songs," he continued. "It's not so easy to design different Worlds on stage and we put a lot of work into it to make it work, the final result we believe to be our most spectacular and certainly the most complex show to date. crazy things, including a replica Spitfire plane dominating the scene during "High Aces", tons of pyro, a giant Icarus, truly wonderful muskets, claymores and flamethrowers with which I'm having a lot of fun, and of course we have Eddie, as you've never seen before, and a host of other surprises.I have had the time of my life to playing with all these gorgeous props on stage, it was fantastic, we can not wait to introduce you to this show!
According to manager Rod Smallwood, Iron Maiden would have been intrigued by the idea of not making an album-related tour, claiming that it "fits our purpose perfectly by allowing us to be creative and have fun, especially with Eddie … This gives the band a chance to play both new material and older favorites that fans like to hear, they say, keeping it fresh, not just for fans, but for the fans. group. "
Once the European tour was over, the group released a video thanking fans of their release, which featured images of the shows. You can watch it below.
