BOSTON (AP) – The Boston Celtics have come out and have stayed behind by eliminating the last undefeated of the NBA with a 3-point barrier.

The Celtics set a franchise record for the 3 points with 24 points on a 117-113 win over the Bucks on Thursday night, leaving Milwaukee their first loss of the season.

"We had a lot of open eyes, we took what they gave us," said Gordon Hayward, who scored three points on 3 points while scoring the season's high with 18 points. "These are big shots for us, we need to be able to hit those".

Kyrie Irving led Boston with 28 points, including six to three, while the Celtics broke the club record by 19 points and broke the NBA record.

Al Horford also scored 18 goals, scoring four goals out of the arc, and Marcus Morris scored five three-point markers to finish with 17 points.

"It was probably a little more than we wanted to shoot, but it was the shots that were there," said Horford, who also led the Celtics with eight assists. "We really want to be better, but we did a good job, I felt just like we had moved the ball, it was encouraging to see."

Giannis Antetokounmpo returned to training after missing a match while he was in the NBA protocol on concussions. He led Milwaukee with 33 points and 11 rebounds.

Antetokounmpo allowed the Bucks to score 62-22, but it was not enough for Milwaukee to defeat Boston's outside shot.

"We were all shooting very well," said Morris. "We were just knocking them out and our guys were hot."

Milwaukee, the last remaining undefeated team in the NBA after beating Toronto on Monday night, was imposed shortly after a furious rally in the fourth quarter.

Down 15 in the final period, the Bucks opened the scoring 12-0 and were just one point behind, but the Celtics kept their fourth consecutive win.

"We still think we are one of the best teams," said Antetokounmpo. "Tonight we had no match" A "or" B. "Probably a" C "match, but we were close to winning the game in Boston."

Khris Middleton and Malcom Brogdon scored 16 goals apiece, while Eric Bledsoe had 13 points and seven assists for the Bucks.

The Celtics, whose previous 3-point record was 19, were equal before the NBA record at 25, set by the Cleveland Cavaliers in a win against the Atlanta Hawks on March 4.

Boston did not score in fourth place until Jayson Tatum scored a 3-pointer with 9:13 to play in the match. Milwaukee continued to push and shoot within 113-112 when Bledsoe scored one in every two goals in 13 seconds.

It was as close as the Bucks would have been when the Celtics sealed it.

Irving had two consecutive shots at the end of the second quarter and Boston led 55-53 at halftime. He opened the second half with three straight streaks beyond the bow and the Celtics seemed to have a 93-78 lead early in the fourth quarter.

"We can improve, we can play better, but congratulations to Boston tonight," said Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer.

To come up

Hayward's previous record was 15 years old. Thursday was his best game as a member of the Celtics, absent last season after a terrible ankle injury in the opening match.

Hayward had a fright in the first half when he hurt his left ankle, but was able to finish.

"I think I got off to a good start and that was important to me – it was good to be able to also be at the end of the match," Hayward said. "It's an ongoing process, the last game was not so great, tonight was a little better."

ALL SALES!

There was a long wait in the middle of the first quarter, when Alex Cora, the Red Sox coach, won the World Series championship trophy on the field, followed by his players.

The fans scolded when Cora led the team out of the tunnel and whenever a player raised the trophy to the height, the fans will continue the celebration that began Sunday with a decisive victory against the Dodgers from Los Angeles.

To punctuate the visit, fans began a series of pejorative songs about the rival Yankees in New York.
