Jesús Aguilar has cooled considerably since his first half earned him first place in the All-Star game.
But he remains a dangerous hitter.
Aguilar recalled this fact on Friday night when he hit the match in an otherwise quiet offensive case, doubling twice the straight line to Tony Watson.
It was only the third kick of the night for the Milwaukee Brewers, but that was enough to win a 4-2 win over the San Francisco Giants at Miller Park.
"It's no longer a bonfire, I would say it looks more like a campfire," said Chase Anderson.
"He's always hot, the biggest thing for him is that he has a throw, even with two strikes – you see the numbers, with two strikes this year, he was incredible – he puts the ball in play."
"Reaching the base, the extra base shots were huge for him – to get to that place and give us a double and score both of those runs, obviously it's really big for us.
"The hat is gone for him."

Aguilar averaged .298 with 24 home runs and 70 RBIs by registering .995 OPS in the first period (87 games). The second half was another story, with Aguilar hitting .235 with seven homers and 27 RBIs in 41 games.
If Aguilar was frustrated, he did not let him show.
He continues to fend for himself while controlling what he can control – one of his favorite lyrics – while anchoring himself in the middle of a Brewers training that has grown considerably with the addition of Mike Moustakas and Jonathan. Schoop in the second half.
"I do not even think about it, I just try to go, put my 100% on the field and see what happens," Aguilar said of his second-half battles. "Good things will happen.
"We're playing really well right now, so it's going to happen to everyone in this room tonight, it was me, tomorrow it can be Travis (Shaw) or someone else."
"We are playing really well, so we have to continue."
Milwaukee had a total of two shots in the first six rounds against San Francisco, with a two-run run in the first by Ryan Braun.
The Giants fought with single shots in fourth and fifth against Anderson to tie the game and set the stage for Aguilar's heroics in seventh.
Curtis Granderson and Eric Thames each participated in the seventh and hunt Hunter Strickland. The left-handed Tony Watson came in and retired Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich to bring Aguilar to the plate.
Aguilar, a master with two strikes so far this season, was in the back in the count, 0-1, before going out and serving a change away to center right to give the Brewers a 4-lead lead. -2. rest of the way.
"In this situation, I just tried to be aggressive in the strike zone," Aguilar said. "Reports say that he is launching a lot of changes, and I was expecting this ground."
It was the Brewers' third and final success, giving them their second win of the season with three hits or less. They are now back to a season high with 18 games over 500 with a lead of one and a half game in the National League card race.
"I think it's spoiled you a bit, which is a good thing – it's a good thing," joked manager Craig Counsell, referring to the first part of Aguilar. "He had good times, and he had a good month of August.
"He was in the right place there, he did a good job, it looked like it was a very good gear change and he went with him.
"Nice swing."
Having already passed the 30 circuit board with 31 points, the next appointment for Aguilar is 100 RBI. He is three years old and joins Shaw as the second Brewers player in as many seasons to reach the mark of the century after four years of absence.
Not bad for a start of the Cleveland Indians who did not become full-time players until this season. Aguilar now appears to be the Brewers' first regular player in the foreseeable future.
"I mean, these are important numbers," said Aguilar. "It will be great for me to prove that I can play at this level, it will be fun too, so let's see what happens.
"I hope to have these 100 points produced."
