It looks like Namor: the submarine could finally appear in the MCU

Even though characters such as Spider-Man, Hulk and the X-Men come to mind first when we think of Marvel Comics, it is Namor the Sub-Mariner who launched this epic mythology when debuted in April 1939, several months before the Golden Age Human Torch and Captain America were introduced. However, over the years, it has not been clear if the Marvel Cinematic universe could use the character, but apparently we have now reached a point where there is no problem getting him in.

While talking with Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, journalist Erick Weber learned that Namor could make an appearance in the MCU. However, before one of you starts celebrating, Feige added that he and the MCU manager are still understanding if and when the Atlantean hero will appear. In other words, there are no concrete projects yet for Namor, but it is always good to know that MCU has access to him.

In the 2000s, Universal Pictures began developing a Namor the Sub-Mariner, but nothing ever surfaced (pun intended slightly). In 2014, Kevin Feige claimed that the character's film rights had been transferred to Marvel Studios, but that some contracts and contracts still had to be settled. Earlier this year, Feige had claimed that there were "complications" in the game (similar to those of another solo Hulk movie), but recent years have been resolved since so, according to Feige, we thought about what to do with Namor.

For those who do not know Namor's submarine, like Aquaman of DC, he is the son of a human father and an Atlantean woman, the latter being the daughter of Emperor Thakorr. Unlike Aquaman, Namor grew up in Atlantis and became the prince of the underwater nation. Officially classified as a mutant in comics, Namor's powers are extreme strength, underwater breathing, extended life span, and the use of the tiny wings of his ankles to fly.

Another thing that distinguishes Aquaman's Namor the Sub-Mariner is that instead of being firmly in the category of superheroes, he goes deeper into the anti-hero line. He has sometimes protected humanity, but at other times he has attacked the surface to avenge himself for alleged crimes against Atlantis. Apart from comics, Namor has appeared in many animated television shows and video games, but it is obvious that appearing in the MCU would introduce him to many people.

Whether Namor the Sub-Mariner directs his own film in the MCU or has a supporting role in another film, I think it's really worthwhile to present it during Phase 4 or beyond. We have had a lot of Marvel movies shot on Earth, but none of them have plunged into the mysteries of their oceans. As Aquaman does for the extended DC universe, Namor can open a whole new area to explore in this franchise.

It should also be noted that since Namer was reintroduced into the Silver Age cartoon in Fantastic Four # 4, he had particularly close ties with Marvel's first family.
