It's not expected that Kanye West teaches, says the Chicago Art Institute's school

Sorry, students from the School of the Art Institute. It would seem that Kanye West will not be teaching at the Chicago institution, despite the opposite statement of the hip-hop artist on Twitter.

"I'll teach a class at the Art Institute of Chicago and at the American Academy of Art," West West tweeted Sunday in a wave of tweets about Chicago's cultural institutions.

"We are flattered that Mr. West has an interest in teaching emerging artists and designers at the Art Institute of Chicago School," said Bree Witt, the school's public relations director, in a statement. "However, Mr. West is not currently teaching at SAIC, and for the moment, he does not plan to do it."

Mr. West also tweeted that he would do a "Chicago Comedy Jam" and that he would "restore the Regal Theater," possibly referring to the historic and closed theater of Avalon Regal, in the neighborhood of South Shore, which has experienced restoration difficulties. (Tickets remain for the Chi City Comedy Jam from October 5 to 6 at the Arie Crown Theater, and no mention of West's involvement could be found.)

Another Chicago-related Western tweet said the Chicago-area native had visited Theaster Gates' Stony Island Arts Bank last week and found it "very inspiring".

"We are honored that Kanye has found so much inspiration in the work of the Rebuild Foundation in Chicago and elsewhere, and we invite others to visit this unique space," said Tregg Duerson, Executive Director of the Rebuild Foundation, Arts Bank & # 39; s. parent organization, in a statement.

But still a tweet from Kanye could provide the strongest clue to the reason for the seemingly speculative wave of messages: "We're putting an office in Yeezy in Chicago," he said. Two new editions of Kanye-Adidas Yeezy sneakers will be available on September 15th and 21st.
