Jabari Bird of Celtics arrested, accused of alleged domestic violence incident

Jabari Bird, second-year winger of Boston Celtics, was arrested Friday night and faces charges for a domestic violence incident in Brighton.

According to Boston.com, the Boston Police Department says Bird is being "watched" at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. The alleged victim of the incident was taken to a separate hospital for treatment. Bird faces complaints of battery assault and battery, strangulation and kidnapping.

The Celtics issued a statement Saturday morning:

"We are aware of the incident involving Jabari Bird and are taking it very seriously, we are actively collecting information and will be reserving other comments for the time being."

The Celtics have made Bird the 56th pick in the 2017 NBA draft at Cal. He spent much of his rookie season with affiliate G's Maine Red Claws, but accepted an NBA deal at the end of July after winning the
