Jabari Bird, a shooting guard at Celtics, was arrested Friday in Brighton, Massachusetts, after a domestic violence incident, according to the Boston Police Department.
Bird, 24, will face charges of assault, battery charges, strangulation and kidnapping. No other details have been published concerning the incident.
Boston police said in a brief statement on Saturday that Bird was being policed by the St. Elizabeth Hospital and that he was undergoing an assessment after the incident.
The victim was taken to a separate hospital for treatment.
The Celtics collect information about the incident.
