Here is the summary of the APs:

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) – Like last season, the Jacksonville defense is the team.

Linebacker Myles Jack scored a 32-yard interception return early in the fourth quarter and the Jaguars spoiled the New York Giants' debut with coach Pat Shurmur and second overall draft pick , and the return of Odell Beckham Jr. 15 wins Sunday.

Blake Bortles had a short touchdown pass and two more first-half tries. The Jaguars dominated with the exception of Barkley-induced hiccups by opening a season by standing up to the hype of the Super Bowl.

Held in defeat a good part of the match, Barkley stepped on the ground shortly after Jack's landing with a spectacular 65-yard run, helped by receiver Sterling Shepard. New York played 20-15 with 10:39 to play.

New York opted for the conversion of 2 points and Barkley (18-Rushes for 106 yards) was stopped.

It proved costly when Beckham's 19 and 21-yard passes (11 catches for 111 yards in his first game since October) brought New York to Jacksonville 34. Instead of attempting that fourth goal from Aldrick Rosas, Eli Manning (23 of 37 for 224 yards) made a fourth save.

A muffled stick cost the Giants a last possession at the last minute.

The Jaguars led 13-6 at the half when Bortles methodically led his team on three points. Josh Lambo dominated the first two with 39-yard goals, and Bortles relied on TJ reinforcements. Yeldin 1 yard for a 13-3 lead.

Beckham, who suffered an ankle fracture on October 8 and did not play in a preseason game, inflicted two interference penalties in the ensuing race. Rosas filled the gap with a touchdown with a goal of 31 yards with: 04 remaining in the half. He added a 44-yard in the first set of the third quarter, thanks to a penalty from Yannick Ngakoue's head against Barkley.

NATIONAL ANTHEM

Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey and LB Telvin Smith Sr. represented the anthem. They stayed in the locker room during the pre-season. Both teams got up.

Giants: Offensive half Wayne Gallman left in the second half after a knee injury.

The game is rich in scenarios:

  • Manning's ripping by Ramsey and the clash against Beckham, who lost his temper through corner backs.
  • The return of Tom Coughlin as executive vice president of Jaguars to face the Giants, a franchise that he led to two Super Bowl titles during his 12 years as head coach ( 2004-15).
  • Barkley and Leonard Fournette, Jaguars, were the last two running back in the top five in a joint strategy. Barkley has only played two offensive series in total during the preseason, while teammate Beckham has not played any total.
  • The offensive guard of jaguars Andrew Norwell against the Giants, who tried to sign him as a free agent. The Giants were forced to participate in Plan B for correcting the offensive when Norwell chose the Jaguars instead.

NFL Season Predictions: Division Winners, Super Bowl, MVP and More

"I think it's fair to say that we are going to do some things that the opponent has not seen in preseason," said Giants coach Pat Shurmur. "But we all have antecedents, we all have years that we have coached.

"Some of the words we used during the training camp – something that meant the race could mean going in. So, there are some tactics involved when you start the season but, for the most part, we are who we are.

"And we want to be a strong and demanding team that manages football and makes efforts to score points, especially the points you need to win the match and then play good defenses."
