Mets ace Jacob deGrom has a last chance to present himself for the Cy Young Award of the 2018 National League, while he will face the Atlanta Braves at Citi Field.
DeGrom is just 9-9 this season, but he leads the majors with 1.77 ERA.
His main competitor for the NL Cy Young Award is the national team Max Scherzer and Phillies as Aaron Nola.

Scherzer eliminated 10 Marlins strikers Tuesday night to become the 17th player since 1900 to record at least 300 strikeouts in a season.
Scherzer leads the National League with 18 wins and is third with an average of 2.53 points.
Nola anchored a Phillies club that played a big part of the year, before collapsing on the peloton.
He is tied for fourth in the National League with 16 wins and is second with an ERA of 2.45.

Jacob deGrom will make the start of the season that has been remarkably consistent, which has earned him a favorite for the NL Cy Young Award. This is also the last chance for DeGrom (9-9) to have a record of wins and to reach double digits in wins. The total gains of the Mets right would have probably made him an outsider for the Cy Young in previous decades, but voters are looking more and more beyond the record of losses. And no one has controlled opponent hitters like DeGrom, who has a record 23 consecutive quality starts, 28 starts in a row allowing three points or less and an ERA of 1.77. He will face NL champions East Braves and Sean Newcomb (12-9, 4.04 ERA), who will make their last start before the playoffs.
