FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to a 75-million-dollar contract extension over five years with left tackle Jake Matthews.
Matthews, 26, was the sixth choice draft of 2014. He debuted in each of his 63 games while serving key role of quarterback protector Matt Ryan.
The case Friday is in the 2023 season and arrives a day after the team has accepted a contract with Julio Jones.
Managing Director Thomas Dimitroff says that the agreement with Jones has allowed the team to continue its efforts to reach new deals with Matthews, defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and safety Ricardo Allen. .pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL
