JPMorgan CEO on working with President Trump

President Donald Trump said that JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon did not have the sense of running for president.

"The problem with the banker Jamie Dimon running for the president is that he does not have the aptitude or that he is" intelligent "and he is a mediocre public speaker and a nervous brothel – if not he is wonderful" Trump tweeted on Thursday morning. "I have done a lot of bankers and others, a lot smarter than they are with my great economic policy!"

Trump was responding to Dimon's comments at an event at the bank's headquarters in New York, where he said he could beat Trump when he ran for president. Dimon later expressed remorse for the comments.

"I think I could beat Trump," said Dimon, a Democrat, Wednesday, according to a transcript published by CNBC. "I can not beat the liberal side of the Democratic Party."

"I'm as hard as he is, I'm smarter than him, I'm fine, he could hit me whatever he wants, it would not work with me. right now." Dimon added.

But a few hours later, Dimon brought him back.

"I should not have said it," said Dimon in a statement. "I do not run in the presidential election, proving I would not be a good politician, I'm frustrated because I want all parties to come together to help solve big problems."

Dimon Regularly intervenes in various Trump administration policies, from trade to immigration. He served on the White House's Strategic and Political Forum under the chairmanship of Mr. Trump until his dissolution last year.

In July, he told CNN that he was not always in agreement with Trump's policy. But Dimon, who heads one of the largest US financial institutions, says that he also can not ignore it.

"You can not withdraw from the field of play," said Dimon.

Dimon said earlier this year that he will be directing JPMorgan until 2023.
