Jared Goff, known for his flat keel behavior, ran to the sideline and gave a celebratory chest shot with coach Sean McVay.
Rams quarterback Jared Goff had a career day and LA constantly exploited the mismanagement of the Vikings. Mike Zimmer's D was suddenly collapsed.
Goff had his best game as a professional, destroying the Vikings' defense for big touchdowns and finishing with 465 passing yards.

Moments earlier, the Los Angeles Rams quarterback scored a shot on the right touchline to kick receiver Cooper Kupp for a 70-yard touchdown.
The pitch was among the best of Goff's season, but it's not his most impressive moment of the night in a 38-31 win over the Minnesota Vikings at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum.
Goff set career highs with 465 passing yards and five touchdowns. He completed 26 of his 33 attempts, did not start any interceptions and finished with a score of 158.3. He is the third quarterback of the Super Bowl era with a perfect passing score of at least 30 attempts, joining his compatriot Ram Kurt Warner in 2000 and Ken O 'Brien in 1986.
"It's really good," said the former number one choice. "You're working on that, that's what you're trying to do, we've come into this area in the first half and we're clicking right now."
Goff's career record was 355 passing yards, set last season in a win over the Houston Texans. He had two performances with four touchdowns in wins against the New York Giants and the Tennessee Titans last season.
Tight windows? Goff threw it there. Double cover? Goff dropped it. Receivers free? Goff hit them fast.
"It was just an excellent command from him," McVay said. "I think he's having fun – no time is too big for him, and it gives you confidence when you see him playing like that."
Goff's five touchdowns have been the most significant in Rams 'history since Kurt Warner's departure in 1999. His 465 passing yards are the third in Rams' history behind Norm Van Brocklin's 554 in 1951 and 509 of Vince Ferragamo. in 1982. He is also the longest by a quarter on less than 35 attempts since Joe Namath threw 496 yards in 28 attempts in 1972.
Goff became the first quarterback in NFL history with at least 350 passing yards and a 75% success rate in three consecutive games, helping the Rams to take the first start since 2001.
In the second quarter, Kupp was behind the Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr, Goff, found him for the 70-yard touchdown, the third-longest in Goff's career, to give the Rams a 14-10 lead.
Later in the quarter, Goff rolled to his right, kept calm under pressure and allowed a double-cover pass into the back corner of the end zone for a 19-yard touchdown at Kupp.
"Jared put it in a 6-inch box that only he could fit in," McVay said. "He had a lot of command and calm all night."
As if that was not enough, the next series, Goff made a 47-yard touchdown for Brandin Cooks gives the Rams a lead of 28-17.
And then in the third quarter, Goff completed a 31-yard pass for a touchdown to Robert Woods to carry the Rams 38-28.
