Jason Aldean pays tribute to victims and survivors 1 year after filming Las Vegas

A year ago today, the unthinkable happened at a country music festival in Las Vegas. Now, some of the biggest stars in the industry remember the tragedy.

Jason Aldean was performing at Route 91 Harvest Festival on October 1, 2017, when a man started shooting at his fans. In the end, 58 were killed and nearly 500 were wounded in this horrible attack. On Monday, the 41-year-old singer used social media to share an image of the festival's neon symbol, accompanied by an understated unit message.

"Think of our family from Route 91 today. #vegasstrong, "he titled the picture.

Just before the shooter opened fire, his compatriot Jake Owen also played. He also shared a post remembering the heartbreaking loss.

"I will never forget the evening of October 1, 2017," he wrote on Twitter. "A year ago today, people loved life. They sang with them. Families and friends 58 lives were lost and thousands were injured and lives changed forever. You will always be in my heart and in my mind. "

Maren Morris, who played at the festival two days before the attack, also shared a tribute on social media including a word from her title, "Dear Hate," which she wrote in response to filming.

"Dear Hate, I hate to tell you that love will conquer everything," she wrote. "Thinking about the fans we lost a year ago. You will always be the 3 chords and the truth.

Chris Young, another event artist, wrote on Twitter: "I will never forget to call my family to tell him that I hope to see them again."

US Senator Dean Heller also took the time to share a few words in memory of the victims of the shooting.

"Even if it's been a year since the actions of a madman devastated Las Vegas, the shock and pain of the first of October still lingers. That night, 58 innocent lives were lost. In a message, country music legend Tim McGraw asked fans to observe a moment of silence at 10:05 am (Pacific time) in honor of the victims.
